With the growing desire of people doing VFX in Blender, here's my advice on how to make VFX integrate seamlessly into video through Blender. I cover Render layers, depth of field, lighting, compositing, color management, and color matching/grading/correction. This video isn't a tutorial, and it's not for beginners; it just covers workflow tips to help others jump into Blender as a VFX tool. Or for those who are already doing VFX, this is how to step up their game! I know this isn't too entertaining, without voiceover, and a little fast at times. I am lacking on time, but I knew others would appreciate the help. Remember that you can still pause the video:) Here's great tutorials for motion tracking, as promised: https://youtu.be/kzym73lhmD4 - a good beginner tutorial by Kenan Proffitt https://openvisualfx.com/2017/04/27/creating-a-matte-painted-shot-in-blender/ - It's technically over matte painting, but this guy is a TV VFX guy, and gives game-changing tips. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVPcT0dJmoY - A classic BlenderGuru tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8b4lmB2t68 - This is from Blender's official training on motion tracking. How would you make professional-level VFX in Blender, with a low-to-no budget? We'll discuss that in this video. You can check out the new VFX shown in this video on Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/magnussonproductions What did you love about this video? What do you want me to do next? Leave it in the comments below. This is me playing Portal's "Still Alive" on the mallets. I put the original song in the background so you can follow. Also because some of my xylophone's keys weren't playing loud enough. In the credits, I spelled "McClane" wrong; it's McClain.

This is a Taken trailer with star wars clips attached. Watch the original Taken trailer if you haven't seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvUxdQ4q-Lg I worked on this for a few weeks on Windows Movie Maker, and when I tried to export it, it wouldn't work, so I used CamStudio (screen recorder) to put it on Youtube--that's why there's those marks on the side. The first shot is an inside joke, so it's okay if you don't understand it.

I do not own the content of this commercial. I couldn't find the trimmed version of this commercial so I edited it myself. I honestly find it funnier than the long version. Sorry that it's low-res, it was the best English version I could find. Originally aired on July 31, 2012.

One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do... Testing the full extent of my VFX integration. Created in Blender 2.79. Many thanks to the amazing mannequin model created by jgilhutton (slightly edited for PBR rendering): https://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/74733 Stock footage (not mine): https://videos.pexels.com/videos/wet-leaves-on-street-rainy-852027

Here's my updated demo reel! All of my renders and animations here were done with Blender. Enjoy! The Batmobile was not fully mine; I edited one made by kingoftheace here:https://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/79773 The Lamborghini was also partially from Papa_Dragon here:https://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/72453

I have some big projects I'm currently working on, but for now, I'll post an updated demo reel! It includes my VFX work as well as CGI stills. Some of these are from old videos, so the encoding looks bad on a few of them. Like I said, I'll be finishing a few projects soon and be able to have clearer footage :) Some of the VFX techniques demonstrated: -Motion tracking -Keying and Rotoscoping -Color grading and correction -Camera mapping and scene reconstruction -Smoke and particle simulations

My dad has a friend stopping by...and of course, he takes my dad's spot. Anyway, I thought I would show you guys the sport car. The guy even left out his car keys ;) Okay, that's not really what happened. Scene and video created, edited and rendered in Blender. The Tumbler was modeled by kingoftheace (https://www.blendswap.com/blends/view...) and edited by me. Sounds from freesound.org Update: I remastered the coloring, materials and lighting. There are still some bad mistakes, but I don't have the time to correct them at the moment. Another time, then :) Rendered with Sheep-It render farm.

I would like to thank everyone who made this video possible, including those who encouraged me. This is my first scripted movie and my first use of VFX. I hope you enjoy it and feel free to leave a comment! See my site for how I used the helmet: https://sites.google.com/site/mentalist4006/cgi-vfx/theredknight--headtracking

This is my third in my Brian Malow parody series. The original is here if you want to watch that one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH0AO9NqF3s&feature=channel_video_title You're underrated, Brian Malow. Great comedian.

This is my second installment of "The Red Knight." It's been a year since the first one, and I'd like to thank everyone who helped make this happen. I learned so much about composition, animation, motion tracking and how much sound changes videos! If you have not seen the first video about the Red Knight, I would recommend doing so since it will explain a few plot points and the kidnapping of Seth Tanner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qqtE4a9CIs

This is the song at the end of Portal 2 on the xylophone. Here's where I got the audio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwimhjXkS88 This is the sheet music I used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwimhjXkS88 UPDATE: This is not technically a xylophone (good eye, brunner). It's actually a glockenspiel.

My first guest star! ;) To review VFX in Blender, I re-implemented Kenan's laser gun stock footage. I used Blender 2.8 and created the smoke, muzzle flash and shell. The sounds are from freesound.com, which I highly recommend for small video projects like this. Kenan has great VFX tutorials; I highly recommend him. Check out Kenan Proffitt's channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-sNFghlhptC9Kx8PGP3Ckg

Just practicing my gunshot VFX techniques. All this was created in Blender, mostly in the compositor. The smoke was within Blender as OpenGL to save render time. Tutorial/Footage from Video Copilot: https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/realistic_gun_blow_back/ Ambient Forest Sound: (https://freesound.org/people/urupin/sounds/402891/) - it kind of sounds like random noise, but it works Beretta SFX: (http://www.mediafire.com/file/566efz00sucwo4w/beretta-m9-SoundFxDude.mp3) See the rest of my portfolio at: https://www.artstation.com/magnussonproductions

This was something I just did for fun Brian Malow's "A Virus Walks into a Bar" video. If you haven't seen the original, go to here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7DkeQ0roAM. I know it's only photos. If I did video it would've easily looked fake. Please rate and comment, and FYI, the picture takes place at the California Academy of Sciences.
