Hold your right hand up in front of you as if you were trying to protect your face in a food fight. Now look at it…. Is your ring finger (the fourth finger, counting the thumb) considerably longer than the finger you point with (the second, “index” finger)? If your ring finger is longer, consider yourself lucky. It seems that finger size, or more specifically, finger ratio, correlates strongly with “higher” testosterone levels, as well as better success in a variety of sports.1 As you see in the picture above, the one of the left side - the ring finger is longer than the index, “pointer” finger. This means higher testosterone levels. Now you might think I’m making this up, but I’m not. Scientists have long noticed that men’s ring fingers are generally longer than their index fingers. With women, it tends to be the reverse: their index fingers are usually longer. They’ve called this difference in length between the index finger and ring finger the “2D:4D ratio.” 2D stands for “second digit” — that’s your index finger, and 4D means “fourth digit” — your ring finger. So if your index finger is 2.9 inches long and your ring finger is 3.1 inches long, you have a 2D:4D ratio of .935 (2.9/3.1 = .935). A longer ring finger compared to your index finger is considered a “low 2D:4D ratio.” Oddly enough, the ring finger seems to have a higher number of receptors for testosterone during early fetal development. Thus, the ring finger grows in proportion to the amount of testosterone produced. The more testosterone produced, the lower the eventual 2D:4D ratio. Interestingly, the 4th digit of the right hand is more sensitive to fetal testosterone than the ring finger of the left hand, so use your right hand to appraise your Testosterone levels. However, keep in mind that Cialis is also SLOW to act and it does take a couple of hours to kick in, while Viagra takes only about 20-30 minutes. Sex Is Expensive Now, what’s crazy is that Cialis costs about $60 a pill. But hey, that’s cheaper than Viagra’s almost $75 a pill price.1.2 But, I get it. Most people don’t know, but exercise actually DECREASES your testosterone levels. This is especially true for “endurance” exercises such as running, jogging, biking, etc. Even though lifting weights can actually INCREASE your testosterone levels, for many people this is temporary. Afterwards, there is a big drop in testosterone. So, why does this happen? Well, there are lots of reasons. Lower blood sugar due to glucose depletion in your muscles, increases your cortisol levels and can cause a decrease in testosterone. Stress on your nervous system (CNS) due to an exhaustive or overly strenuous workout, increases your cortisol and will cause a decrease in your testosterone. Not eating well, being depleted of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, causes stress on your body and again, raises your cortisol and decreases your testosterone. As you see - the common problem is STRESS and the increase in your cortisol hormone. There are 3 ways to fix this problem and reduce this from happening: Make sure you have enough food in your body, before AND after exercise. This means have a good, light meal about an hour or two before exercise. And make sure to eat carbs and protein soon after your workout, to replenish your empty glucose and protein levels. Keep your workouts short. No more than 30-45 minutes. No more than 3-4x weekly. Don’t kill yourself. You should leave the gym feeling GOOD and refreshed. Not as if you just got done wrestling Kingkong and you’re dead tired. Take vitamins and herbs after your workout, that are clinically proven to reduce cortisol and increase your testosterone. And one of the simplest ways to do this is to take Vitamin C. Recent research shows that taking about 500 mgs of Vitamin C, before AND after your workout,1 can Decrease your stress hormone, cortisol. Dramatically reduce the drop in testosterone levels. Improve sperm count and the desire to have sex. There have been many other clinical studies showing how powerful Vitamin C is at reducing stress. This simple exercise will also help avoid the embarrasing “premature ejeculation”, allowing you to statisfy your parter, better and long than ever before. If you’ve been following my work and watching my videos, you would know that certain exercises can either increase or decrease your libido, erection strength, hardness and even size, because of hormonal changes. If you didn’t already know, testosterone is the primary hormone that increases your libido, sex drive and “muscle size”. Unfortunately, this hormone starts to decrease around the age of 25. However, certain exercises can increase your decrease your testosterone. For example, doing too much cardiovascular exercise - like running, jogging, etc. can decrease your testosterone because of the increase in your stress hormone, cortisol. TWO things you do NOT want to do. One of the best forms of exercise for increasing your testosterone is lifting weights. However, too much of that isn’t good either. About 3-4x weekly, no more than an hour is just the right amount to increase your testosterone and help improve your libido and sex drive. The Non-Exercise, Exercise However, today I’m NOT going to discuss anything about lifting weights, cardio, etc. I’ve done that in the past. What I want to talk about is a very simple “non-exercise”, exercise... that you can do RIGHT NOW, while watching this video and that’s called, the Kegel Exercise. I call this the “non-exercise” exercise because it requires no gym, equipment or even real movement. Now, some of you may have heard of this. Unfortunately most do it incorrectly. Kegel exercises are done to strengthen the perineal muscles. To “flex” this muscle, it’s very simple. One way to describe how to do it is, by contracting your anus muscle, as if you’re trying to hold in gas. Go ahead and give it a try now... Another way to do it is stop peeing midway through. Thus, as you’re peeing, “contract the muscle” that will STOP the pee, midway through. That’s it - that’s a kegel exercise. Super simple, but extremely effective. You can literally do it anywhere, anytime and nobody would know. Sets & Reps You should do kegel’s about 3x a week to start with. Over time, slowly build up to 5x weekly. Just don’t do it every single day because like any muscle, it requires rest to gain strength. Contract the muscle (holding in gas or stop peeing) and hold for 3-5 seconds. Relax for 1-2 seconds. That’s ONE repetition Do this 10 of these, for 10 repetitions. That’s ONE set Do one set of 10 repetitions, 3x weekly. Then maybe the next week do 2 sets of 10 reps and work up to 3 sets of 10 reps, 3x weekly. You can do it all at once, or break it up 2-3x daily. Nothing it set in stone. What matters is consistency, persistence and patience. Benefits There lots of benefits when this muscle is strong Stronger, full erections Last longer, more stamina and the prevention of premature ejeculation. Stronger orgasms. Healthier prostate. Improvement for those who have overactive bladder or urinary incontinence. How To Improve Results Of course, doing the right exercises is a great start. However, the bottom line is that you need to have optimal levels of your anti-aging, “pro-sexual” hormones such as total and free testosterone levels. I’m 48 and I’ve got all the symptoms of having low testosterone. I’ve been doing my research. My doctor says “don’t worry, this is normal”. I then read some other expert saying how I should increase it, so I can be healthier. And then I read the exact opposite from another “expert” saying that increasing it can cause health problems and even cancer. PLEASE HELP me, I’m so confused and I’m so tired of all the contradictory information - what should I do?” One of the biggest problems with aging, are hormonal imbalances. There are lots of them, but today I’m going to focus on testosterone levels - which affect BOTH men and women. Even though, it does manifest itself much more so in men because of erectile dysfunction, impotence and of course muscle loss and fat gain. So the problem is that as you age, your testosterone levels start decreasing. This starts around your mid 20’s. The decline accelerates in your 30’s and really starts to drop hard around your 40’s and beyond At this point, most guys really DO need to increase their testosterone back to it’s youthful levels, so they can look and feel younger again. Not to mention, low testosterone levels causes many health problems and diseases -- such as heart disease high cholesterol and blood pressure Poor blood blood flow and circulation diabetes and high blood sugar mental decline and memory loss Depression, anxiety and yes, even CANCER! So again, the goal is to increase your testosterone levels, to their higher, youthful levels. Your Testosterone Boosting Options And to do this, you can either take prescription testosterone “exogenously”, from the outside… such as testosterone injections or creams containing the drug “testosterone”. Or you can do it naturally, “endogenously”, from within… By taking specific herbs, vitamins and minerals. And of course, improving your lifestyle as well. The REAL Problem! Now, the problem with increasing your testosterone is that as you age, your body starts to convert the testosterone to more “anti-testosterone” hormones that LOWER your testosterone. So, let’s say you try to increase your testosterone with a drug (exogenously) or supplements (endogenously). Your body initially and TEMPORARILY increases your testosterone. Which is great. But soon after, it all drops again back to lower levels because your body quickly does 3 things: [1] It lowers testosterone by converting it to more female hormones, such as estrogen. This causes fat again, depression and “man” boobs. [2] It also lowers testosterone by converting it to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) - this accelerates balding, extra body hair and prostate problems. [3] Finally, there’s an increase in stress and adrenal hormones, such as cortisol. And each of these 3 “conversions”, further lowers the testosterone back to “low” levels again. So, not only are back to having “low” testosterone again like you originally did. But now you have an even BIGGER problem -- HIGH estrogen, DHT and stress hormones!!! THIS is now the reason you are at a higher risk for cancer and various diseases. So the solution is that you need to REDUCE the conversion to these 3 “negative” hormones. You don’t want to block them completely because they are needed and have important roles. You just want to “lower” them. The real problem is that 99% of doctor’s don’t do this and don’t know how to do this and the truth is, they don’t really even care because it’s very complicated. If taking testosterone injections, you’d have to take drugs that also inhibit estrogen, DHT and cortisol. Not only does this get very expensive, all of these drugs have their own problems and negative side-effects. You can also take supplements that do this - the benefit is, no negative side-effects. Aerobic means “with oxygen” and things like walking, jogging, playing sports, dancing, swimming and so forth are all great. You don’t need much to start. Even 15-20 minutes, 3x weekly is great. The goal is at least 30 minutes, 3x weekly. Anaerobic means “without oxygen” and this is mainly “resistances exercise” and lifting weights. This can be with dumbbells and barbells, cables, machines or even your own bodyweight. Lifting weights has even MORE benefits than aerobic because it improves your hormones and increases calcium buildup in your BONES, where it should be. The more muscle and heavier weights you lift, the stronger your bones … which what we all need as we age. Diet You need to improve your diet and I’ll keep is simple. You want anti-inflammatory and low insulin-stimulating/blood sugar diet. 50% of your diet should come from low-glycemic, anti-inflammatory carbohydrates. Yams Quinoa Buckwheat (contains NO wheat or gluten) Legumes/beans Some fruit Lots of vegetables 25% should come from healthy proteins Wild caught fish (salmon is great) Grass fed bison/buffalo Free range eggs (including the yolks) Small amounts of free-range chicken 25% from health fats Organic, extra virgin coconut Organic avocado Extra virgin olive oil Raw nuts (almonds & walnuts are great) Don’t drink your calories and eliminate dairy. Remember, hormones affect you both physically and emotionally. After 8 weeks, men in the maca groups reported heightened sexual desire [1]. Another study looked at 20 depressed men on SSRIs – antidepressants that often decrease sex drive – and found that daily maca extract “significantly increased self-reported libido”. However, if it’s been on and off for more than a couple of months, then we can assume you do have some degree of erectile dysfunction, which is a warning sign of a health problem. The Shocking Statistics When you think about ED, you typically picture an older guy in his 70’s … Well, NOT that you’re thinking about guys in their 70’s, just that it tends to happen to “older” men. However, ED problems are starting in guys in their mid 20’s. In fact, statistics show that 20% of men in their 20’s have ED, 40% of guys in their 40’s, 60% of men in their 60’s and so forth. The prevalence of complete ED increases from 10% to 15% as age increases from 40 to 70 years. Thus, even though it does affect men to some degree at all ages, after the age of 40 is when the real problems become “common”. In fact, this is called “Andropause” in men, similar to “menopause” in women. And the cause is similar for most everyone, a negative change in your hormones, primarily due to aging. This is due to an imbalance hormones. A decrease in your “pro-sexual” hormones, such as total and free testosterone … Versus an increase in your negative “anti-sexual” hormones, such as female hormones (estrogen, progesterone, prolactin, etc.) and stress hormones (cortisol, adrenalin, etc.) What Are The Causes Of ED? Unfortunately, your penis has a mind of its own and thus, there are lots of causes leading to ED. Different medications and drugs can cause impotence or ED, stress and worry, vascular and blood flow, boredom with your partner, fatigue, illness and of course, the negative changes in your hormones due to aging. What Are The Solutions? The solution has to be based on the original problem. For example, people who have heart disease or diabetes, have vascular and blood flow problems, leading to erectile dysfunction. In this situation, you’d need to improve your lifestyle, eat better, exercise and take the right supplements to help fix this problem and prevent it from getting worse. However, over and over again, the common denominator tends to be hormonal. Listen... stress, worry, anxiety and depression can all cause ED. Now you end up with a higher ratio of FEMALE hormones to male hormones -- which is obviously BAD for getting an erection. By the way, more female hormones cause depression and anxiety, which now we go back to the beginning causing MORE stress and thus, LESS testosterone. It turns into this negative loop, causing more and more hormonal problems This is why the older you get, the lower your testosterone and the more ED problems.
