Do you take a medicine that you must cut into pieces? Having problems splitting your pills without smashing them up a little? This is a short instructional video illustrating the best way to split a pill in HALF with a knife, NOT in a million pieces! Here's an easy trick that works much better than just wingin' it.
Wow, great info. "How to cut a pill in half", take a knife and chop it in half! What do you do when you're not working at NASA? Oh yeah, chopping your meds in half. Who'd have thought of that? Of course you lost a quarter of the pill in crumbs Dumbass. Dumbest vid on YouTube.
One of my very small dogs are on Lasix and takes half a pill twice a day. I almost always manage to crush at least half the pill. This is a great way to do the splitting without crushing if you use a good sharp knife.
Theres actually a way to split pills without a knife. Use a BIC lighter and hold it vertically in front of you. Then hold the pill up against it with your thumbs on either side. Then you just press and snap. Ised to work with vics, methadones,OCs, percs... etc. Back when i was a pill fiend i did this daily.
So was that pill scored? My problem is splitting unschooled pills the same size, maybe a lil bigger then the one in your vid & i cant. I use a kitchen knife & a hammer but if chose i end up with a quarter of it on 1 side, tons in powder form & a chunk on the other. It's a mess, everytime. Im gonna try it anyway, just to see if it works.
I'd recommend a sharp, thin blade with a handle, so you can do it how I did in the video. Most pocket knives work great. If you do use a razor, use a boxcutter, so there's a handle, otherwise you won't be able to use this technique.
+espositokj- It's the Leatherman C33. It's a great knife, legal length in most places and sharpens to SCARY sharp. Has a bottle opener/carabiner type clip on the other end. I would definitely recommend it! Sorry for the drastic delay in reply, I never got a notification for this, plus it was back when google plus ruined youtube for a while, heh...
+kennetro I know this is late(not sure why YouTube never notified me of this comment) but sure, no problem. Amazing how one little thing can make things so much easier. Using the tip as a pivot point makes all the difference. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! I don't take medicine, instead I've been taking vitamins for a very long time, but I think I may have to cut some of them in half since I've been eating a lot more fruits and vegetables than I ever had, so I may be taking too many mg. of Vitamin C and E since I get alot from the food I eat. I'm so glad I found you!
