It might be one of the most popular one’s, but the evidence of it boosting testosterone just isn’t clear enough for me. It seems to increase testosterone levels in rats, stressed humans, and humans with low testosterone, but no studies have ever examined its effects on healthy males…
However, it does look very promising, and if you're a guy with low T or stress-induced T issues, then you should definitely give it a shot. We're excited to see any new research that comes out around tongkat ali in the future.

Effect of Tongkat Ali on stress hormones and psychological mood state in moderately stressed subjects
"Numerous rodent studies exist demonstrating reduced anxiety and improved sexual performance following tongkat ali feeding [37-40], with such effects thought to be due to a restoration of normal testosterone levels. Eurycoma’s anxiolytic effects have been demonstrated in a variety of behavioral tests, including elevated plus-maze, open field, and anti-fighting, suggesting an equivalent anti-anxiety effect to diazepam as a positive control .
Animal studies have shown that many of the effects of the extract are mediated by its glycoprotein components . The mechanism of action of the bioactive complex polypeptides (“eurypeptides” with 36 amino acids) has been shown to activate the CYP17 enzyme (17 alpha-hydroxylase and 17,20 lyase) to enhance the metabolism of pregnenolone and progesterone to yield more DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) and androstenedione, respectively . This glycoprotein water-soluble extract of Eurycoma longifolia has been shown to deliver anti-aging and anti-stress benefits subsequent to its testosterone-balancing effects
This video is a commentary on various studies involving Tongkat Ali, which, afaik, he doesn't even include in any supplements. All I wanted to know, regarding your first comment, was if you found information in which he contradicted himself on l. reuteri. Judging by your response, I'll take that as a "no".
I'm 29 and got my levels tested and total test was 194 and free was 9.6. Which is weird cus the rest of my bloodwork was great and hdl cholesterol was high. I have been taking daa but just saw a study it can lower test in healthy males so I will stop taking. It. I wanted to take tongkat Ali. Am I better off taking 100:1 pure tongkat Ali or should I take something that has some tongkat Ali in it along with maca tribulus ginseng etc in it?
Thanks for the video. Are you certain that Tongkat Ali is not raising testosterone in the disfavorable way of blocking conversion to DHT? In another video I believe you mentioned Fenugreek among other things does this, creating a sort of false positive for raising testosterone.
First off I love your channel :)
Ok, main point.
How do medical testicular procedures affect Testosterone levels?
I'm being faced wth a bit of an obstacle. I've had a vasectomy in March 2016, open-ended vasectomy, and at first i thought I developed a hematoma afterwards. What i've been told is that it is NOT an infection or swelling but it's actually 'hardened' sperm that's collected around the vas deferens near my testicle. I have this residual pain every now and then on both sides of my scrotum where the incision was made (and sometimes a really sharp pain) which my doctor claims is normal. I am trying to get a second opinion from a different doctor without the original doctor finding out that I'm considering legal action if it turns out the procedure wasn't done correctly (I mean, how can sperm just 'leak' out of the vas deferens if the procedure was done right and the tubes were closed, you know?)
A couple of months ago I couldn't get an erection, BUT I was also dieting really hard (1400 cals), not enough fats and I was in a very poor mental state. However, now I can get an erection, soo...
I got my T levels checked on July 1st and these were my results:
Albumin 5.8 g/dL
SHBG 30.85 nmol/L
Testosterone 238 ng/dL
Free testosterone 4.3 ng/dL
Bioavailable Testosterone 122 ng/dL
The variable is that this is the first Testosterone test I've ever gotten..so I have no reference point to say "Yes, the procedure caused this" or "No, it didn't"
Yes, I know my levels are low anyway and I'm working to correct them.
I just don't want to jump to conclusions because I believe correlation doesn't equal causation.
